TPI was invited to attend a workshop on partnership best practices and their possible contribution to Rio+20 on 14 December 2011 at the UN Headquarters in New York. The workshop was organised by the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development Secretariat and benefited from the participation of approximately 60 representatives from Governments, CSD registered Partnerships, academic and research institutions, Major Groups and the UN system.
The workshop aimed to have an initial discussion regarding the elements that could be addressed at the Partnerships Forum during Rio+20. It also offered an important opportunity for a dynamic, engaged and interactive discussion regarding the role of partnerships in advancing the implementation of sustainable development.
