Exclusive UN staff session: Unleashing the power of business as your partner in development

On Friday 23rd June, TPI and the UN Global Compact will be running an exclusive session for UN staff  on the latest trends and insights around partnering with business from 10am-12pm at the UNGC office, followed by a Partnering Clinic from 1pm to 5pm.

Come and join The Partnering Initiative Executive Director, Dr Darian Stibbe, and Americas Director, Katie Fry Hester, the Global Compact and UN colleagues for the first of a series of informal events to help you make the most of your partnering with business.

UN staff session on partnering with business

During this first session, we’ll be taking an overview of the issues and the practices that are helping to scale up and deliver more impactful collaboration:

◊ Sharing latest practices, methodologies and business thinking on company / foundation partnering with NGOs and the UN, as well as some of the latest corporate sustainability trends, from shared value to the SDGs;

◊ Insights into how UN agencies and NGOs are beginning to better assess ‘value’ beyond financial income, and building their own institutional capability to become ‘fit for partnering’;

◊ Understanding of the resources available from the UNGC, The Partnering Initiative and beyond, and an opportunity to suggest new tools, resources and capacity building that would support your work.

The session provides a unique forum in which to gain the latest insights on partnering from outside the UN and to exchange your own knowledge and experiences. To help drive a focused session and gain practical insights and new learnings, participants are encouraged to come to the session with specific partnership examples to share.
