Major new resource on partnerships for Inclusive Business

Partnerships delivering inclusive business: May blog series and new Know How Page

Inclusive business models invariably require partnership: companies need to go beyond their core skill set to develop inclusive and durable supply or distribution chains, design and scale products for Base of Pyramid consumers, and manage risk in innovative business plans. Partnerships with businesses, NGOs and government can all bring essential pieces of the puzzle to the table.

This month, the Practitioner Hub for Inclusive Business and The Partnering Initiative, with support from the UK’s Department for International Development, are focusing on the role of partnerships in delivering inclusive business.

The joint newsletter and blog series explores why and when partnerships are necessary, why they can be so challenging, and how those challenges can be overcome. A range of on-the-ground examples- from SAB Miller in Africa to SAFICA in Haiti – share successes and failures.

In addition, TPI has produced a new resource for the Practitioner Hub: the Know How page on Partnerships for Innovation which presents an overview of the main types of partnership for inclusive business, with examples of what they can achieve, and provides links to a range of tools and resources designed to support practitioners on their partnering journey.

Finally, don’t miss our new checklist on designing partnering agreements to support long-term sustainable impact for Inclusive Businesses, and our issue brief on building inclusive business ecosystems through collaboration.
