In preparation for the first high-level meeting of the Global Partnerships for Effective Development (GPEDC) in Mexico in April, The Partnering Initiative, with support from DFID, is developing a major new report. “Unleashing the Power of Business: A Roadmap for the systematic engagement of business as a partner in development”.
From Rio+20, through the High Level Panel report on the post-2015 development agenda, to the UN’s setting of the post-2015 development goals, international development processes are placing a heavy demand on the private sector and cross-sectoral partnerships as an essential mechanism to achieve sustainable development.
The report will set out a series of concrete steps governments, donors, international organisations, business and NGOs can take to engage business more systematically and scale up the use of partnerships for development.
TPI is today releasing a work-in-progress draft report for external consultation. The consultation is designed to test out the findings to date and to gain further insights, examples and experiences to ensure the report is as relevant and robust as possible.
If you would like to read the draft report, and contribute your views, please download the report and then contribute your comments either through the , or by email to roadmap@partnerinit.org.
